Cons
- Heavy. This grill may be known to be heavy duty but it sure is heavy literally. Even if it has wheels, it is still complicated to transfer the grill from one place to another without assistance. It is very heavy to be portable.
- Heavy on the budget. It is not only heavy literally but it is also heavy on the budget. It is very expensive indeed compared to other grills out there. So, if ever yours bug down or get damaged, the money you paid for it is really not worth it. In fact, it is way too expensive for a gas grill and you may find other gas grills of the same quality but cheaper.
The Weber Genesis 6570001 S-330 Propane Gas Grill is very popular because it is made by Weber, a renowned company that manufactures quality grills. Because of the reliable reputation of Weber, Genesis also earns the reputation being a high quality grill.
This makes purchasing the grill a source of peace of mind for buyers whether they are planning to use it for personal or business purposes. After all, buying a gas grill that is manufactured by a reputable company is way better than buying a gas grill from a manufacturer that has uncertain background.
The quality of Weber Genesis S-330 is why this grill gets so outstanding. Every part on this grill works great, and since virtually a 10 year warranty on everything in this grill is offered, you can trust it for lasting for at least a decade which I would believe to be longer.
Three burners include a 38,000 BTU main burner, a 12,000 BTU side burner under a flush mounted cover on the right side table and a 10,000 BTU sear burner. This sear burner is simply an additional, standard burner inside the firebox between the center and left ones. This boosts the heat output on this side for giving you an intense searing heat.
This gas grill is also obviously constructed well so you will have no problem thinking whether it is sturdy or not. Even if you haven’t tried it yet or even if you are just looking at it, you could say it is heavy duty so even if it is literally heavy, it is worth it because it is a heavy duty grill. From its stainless steel parts, to how it was constructed, it is not a surprise if this grill would last forever with you since it is rust-free and just plain durable.
Setting up this gas grill is also not a source of frustration especially for beginners because it comes with a manual that contains instructions about how to set up, use and operate this gas grill. A simple set up here and there can have you grilling right away already.
Basically, this grill is the same as the Genesis E-330 which is at $100USD less price. What this S-330 has are stainless steel body panels and lid, stainless steel rod cooking grates, and stainless steel vaporization bars. Definitely, the stainless steel version would not cook any better than its more colorful cousins, but in my experience this one would last longer than others.
The sear burner is really preferred on the Weber Genesis S330 grill, once you try it you would like it and use it a lot, it wouldn’t get as hot as the infrared burners found on a lot of barbecues but what is wonderful is that this sear burner nearly takes up no space while not using.
The Genesis Gas Grill is certainly to be the talk of the neighborhood with luxurious grilling features that are different from any other. The Weber Genesis S-330 Gas Grill is a great choice and would be a pleasure to be owned by any grilling enthusiast.
The Weber Genesis model is also an ideal gas grill to buy because it heats up instantly and you don’t have to wait more than 5 minutes for it to heat up unlike charcoal grills. So, if you are working at a steakhouse where fast-paced grilling is necessary to attend to customers right away, this grill is perfect and is really worthy of its price since you will be able to get great returns on this investment in no time. Plus, this is also safe for the health because it does not make way for the production of carcinogens that cause cancer.
It is a very convenient gas grill since it does not accumulate rust and that paves the way for easier cleaning. Aside from easy cleaning, rust also compromises the safety of the food you are grilling and a rust-free gas grill like this is just perfect to whip up not only a delicious steak but a healthy steak as well. All of the features of this gas grill works well. From the electronic ignition, the flavorizer bar, the cooking grates and a lot more; they make grilling more convenient than when you use the traditional charcoal grill.
Obviously, the cost of this gas grill is also very high and if you consider your limited budget and usage for the grill, you might find it not worth your budget. But if you consider the fact that Weber Genesis 6570001 S-330 Propane Gas Grill is great for a variety of uses whether personal, small gatherings, business, etc. and how it can actually save you time and effort in grilling, there is no reason to say that this is not a good-value-for-the-money gas grill.

Despite the cons of the Weber 57060001 Q3200 Liquid-Propane Gas Grill, it remains as a grill to admire for a lot of reasons. One is the fact that the stationary cart is a well thought out design as it is not only unique and stable but it also has safety features. For instance, the tank storage locks the propane tank in place so it can’t shift as well as the cart is also provided with a counterweight to help prevent tips that may cause accidents and be a safety hazard to users.
The performance of this gas grill is also something to admire because for its price, it heats faster and cooks better than any $300 big box model and what’s more is that, when it comes to searing steaks and vegetables as well as roasting, it is totally great. Its cast iron grill surface is terrific in several ways most especially when it comes to preventing food from falling through the grill spaces. This is because it has no wide open spaces that could make the food fall through, making you grill hotdogs in any direction without worry.
One common concern of many people when it comes to grilling is the occurrence of flame-ups as this usually happens with charcoal burners. The good news is that this gas grill reduces the chances for flame ups because this gas grill needs no rocks, briquettes or flavor bars which are usually the main factors that cause flame-ups.
This gas grill is just the perfect size compared to the big top grills. It is not that big to be an inconvenience when moving it to other areas which is what makes this gas grill portable. It is not too big to occupy a wide area and make the kitchen or the patio crowded but it is not small enough to make you feel uncomfortable grilling with it. It is just right space-saving size unlike other gas grills so wherever you decide to put it, it won’t be an inconvenience to you.
Although the Weber Q3200 gas grill may be one of the smaller lines of gas grills that Weber makes, don’t let the size fool you. This portable grill cooks just as well, if not better than many of the larger gas grills that are on the market today. And even though it may be smaller in size, the grill surface is large enough so that you can easily cook meals for 8 ravenous adults. With this model, Weber has again produced a top quality grille that you’re going to surely enjoy for years to come.
The Weber Q3200 gas grill really is a quality gas grill in the Weber Q series. This Weber Q3200 review will highlight some of the features that truly make this a wise investment if you’re looking for a portable lp gas grill. Engineered by Weber, which is a well respected American company, this unit is heavy and solid. It comes with a stable stationary cart (with a counterweight) that makes it hard to tip over when moving it around.
It also includes a tank storage system that locks the liquid propane tank into place. There is also a tank skirt that helps to hide the lp tank and shade it from the sun, which comes in handy when you’re grilling on a really hot day. Weber thought of the little things that make a product functional and memorable to use.
If you’re wondering whether this grill is large enough to cook for more than a couple of people, rest assured that Weber Q3200 has a large enough grill surface to easily cook for 4-8 people.
If you’ve grilled on stainless or porcelain covered grates before, you no how frustrating it can be to cook hotdogs or sliced veggies because they slip through. Take advantage of the cast iron grill surface that Weber has thoughtfully included, which eliminates this problem all together.
Another feature that you’re going to appreciate about this particular Weber gas grill is that it heats up extremely fast, due to its clam shell design. It can reach 500 degrees within 2-5 minutes. This is a plus for those of us who don’t like to spend too much time on meal preparation.
Although it is rated at 21,700 BTUs, you’re going to find that this heats up faster than some of the larger gas grills that are rated at 40,000 BTUs. As you can see, this smaller size lp grille really packs a big punch.
Not only that, because of the unique shell design, this unit maintains a constant temp and cooks meats and vegetables consistently, as well. This beautiful design is also responsible for this unit burning less fuel, meaning you won’t have to run out and replace your lp tanks as often.
There’s no need to hassle over lighting this unit, because with the press of the handy electronic igniter, the Weber Q3200 grill is good to go. Those days of dealing with messy coals and charcoal fluid are over when use this unit.
The convenient built in thermometer is a nice edition for those of us who like to know exactly what temp we’re cooking expensive steaks and roasts on. Nobody likes to take a chance on ruining a good piece of meat, because the temp was too high or too low.
There’s a nifty light built into the top handle of the Weber Q portable outdoor grille. If you like to bbq at night, this will come in handy for sure.
If you’re one that likes to constantly check and look at the food you’re cooking, you won’t have to lift the actual hood on the unit, because you can see inside of it by looking at the grille from either side.
You’re going to have fun and probably get rave reviews from family and friends about how good your bbq turns out, when you start cooking on this Weber Q portable outdoor unit. You can sear lovely steaks, do some great roasting and grill veggies, on the Weber grill 320.
If you’re unsure about how to grille something, there’s a useful informative cooking guide included, that explains how to prepare meats, chicken, and other foods. You can refer to this Weber gas grill recipes guide, even if you consider yourself a grill connoisseur.
Assembling this baby, isn’t going to cause you a massive headache. If you follow the instructions provided, you can have this Q grill up and running in around an hour. This is a plus for those of us who are a bit challenged when it comes to putting things together.

- Reasonable Price. Compared to other Weber gas grills, this gas grill is very reasonable in price. In other words, the price is just right, not too costly and not too cheap for its quality. Just enough for you to get good value for your money.
Cons:
- Not good for mass cooking. This is due to the fact that the cooking area measures only 393-square-inch. This may be practical only when you are grilling for 2-4 people for a small gathering, but if you are considering grilling for many people; this may not be a practical choice.
- Most parts are plastic. You cannot help but worry about some parts of this gas grill that are made of plastic such as the working tables. Yes, they may not heat up like metal, but you can’t help but question whether they are sturdy. Although Weber claims it is heavy duty, they could be a hassle since they are not really that spacious.
This will surely make a great addition to anyone’s cooking arsenal, especially for those who enjoy preparing great tasting food outdoors.
While you may worry about the side tables which are made of plastic and that it would be better if they are not made of plastic, the fact that it is made of plastic is also a blessing in disguise because it does not get hot like other grills, meaning they are also perfect for safety purposes.
And if you don’t like the idea of plastic working tables, you can simply fold them down anyway. Since this is bigger and taller than the Q300, it is expected to be heavier but thanks to the wheels, it makes it easy to wheel around with the shelves down.
This gas grill is also beginner-friendly because the electric starter allows the grill to start instantly and this makes this gas grill a pleasure to use. While you may be worried about the quality of some plastic parts, knowing that Q3200 is a Weber gas grill can also give you the peace of mind that it is in good quality. All the three materials boast of qualities that home users look for when shopping for a high-quality grill. For instance, the porcelain-enameled steel cooking grate ensures durability and ease of cleaning. Stainless steel rod cooking grates will guarantee you beautiful sear marks and have the ability to hold heat quite well. Stainless steel rod cooking grates are also simple to clean and maintain. Porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grates merges the simplicity of porcelain-enameled together with excellent heat retention provided by cast-iron. The idea is to prevent possible flare ups within the grill as a result of dripping oily juices, thus preventing possibilities of fires. What to Look For in Grills?
For the average American household, the grill is an essential tool in cooking. It goes without saying that Americans have always been attached and in love with grilled goodies. That’s why they usually spend some money in getting the best grill out there. But choosing a grill may be tougher as it seems. Because of the thousands of brands and models, you need some criteria and factors to weigh on in order to choose the one best suited for you. The two most important considerations are the price and the type of grill.
Type of Grill
First think to consider is the type of grill you want, or more importantly, you need. Basically, there are three major varieties – electric, charcoal, and gas grill. The first one is usually called indoor grill because you need a power outlet to make it work. It isn’t that much of a typical grill really because it doesn’t produce the same cooking quality compared to the other two. The second type is the most traditional and common. The charcoal grill is obviously operated by putting charcoal and heating them. While it is the oldest way of cooking food through direct heat, it is not the most efficient. Finally, you have the gas grill. Gas grills are either powered by natural or propane gas. So if you’re planning to get one yourself, find the advantages and disadvantages of each type.
Price
Put in mind that grills can be in different sizes and specifications. As a result, each brand, type and model can have its own distinct price tag. For instance, electric grills are the most expensive and because gas grills are lighter and doesn’t have an attached power source, they are likely cheaper. If you choose the standard charcoal grill because you think you can save by using it, bear in mind that you have to buy charcoal every time you want to cook.
Features of the Genesis E-330
There is much to love about the Weber Genesis E-330 Liquid Propane Gas Grill. For one, the smooth black finish can certainly get your attention and interest. But aside from the design, there are too many features for this grill that you wouldn’t want to miss.
Front Mounted Control Panel
What makes the E-330 very unique compared to other models are the front mounted control knobs. The purpose of this is to address a more convenient and full panel and on heat control for the user. With better heat control, you don’t have to worry about getting your food burned and overcooked because you don’t have enough comfort and space to reach the knobs.
Built-In Thermometer
There is also a built in thermometer mounted in the middle of the lid. This ensures that you don’t lose track of the heat of your grill. This comes very useful because there are times when the heat gets too high and your food gets overcooked or burned.
Individual Electronic Ignition System
When you’re sick and tired of making a fire, waiting for the same to produce enough heat to cook food, and then put much effort in maintaining the heat, you certainly need a machine that can instantly ignite and heat up.
With the individual electronic ignition system from the Weber Genesis E-330 Liquid Propane Gas Grill, you don’t have to waste precious time, not to mention patience in waiting for your grill to heat up. The system gives you a very reliable and fast heating and cooking time.
Large Cooking Area
What’s wrong with most gas grills? It’s the small and insufficient cooking space. However, this grill is somewhat unique because it has a particularly large cooking area measuring approximately 507 square inches. Aside from the cooking space, there is also a spare 130 square inches of warming rack. Now that’s enough for a large picnic or camping!
Precision Fuel Gauge
Feeling the fear of running out of propane gas? No problem! With a precision fuel gauge attached to the removable tank, you can conveniently and serenely monitor the amount of fuel left. So you don’t get to mess up your cooking just because you didn’t know you have run out of fuel.
Porcelain Enameled Cast Iron Grates
Some grills don’t last because you feel like it ceased from providing quality and even cooking. The main reason is probably the type of grates. Some low end grills become so deteriorated after years of use that you don’t get the same cooking quality as before. Thus, the moment you buy another grill, make sure it has porcelain enameled cast iron grates like the Weber Genesis E-330 Liquid Propane Gas Grill. With it, you get to retain consistent and even cooking even after years of use. Not only that, you also get your food seared handsomely.
- High Powered Sear Station Burner
The Sear station burner is a remarkably useful feature because it actually maximizes your heat without sacrificing grilling space, like what most other grills do. The result – you get the ideal grill marks minus the lack of space for cooking.
What is the Price?
The Weber Genesis E-330 Liquid Propane Gas Grill is not your average and midsize propane grill. In fact, it is classified as a high end product with a particularly stiffer list price of $900. But don’t be disappointed with the tag because Amazon currently offers it at a more reasonable and practical offer of slightly less than $800. That means you can save a hundred bucks should you go online and purchase it at Amazon.
How About Warranty?
With a high price naturally comes a better warranty for the product. For the Genesis E-330, there is a limited 10-year warranty for t he burners and a two-year warranty for the other parts of the grill.
Are There Any Complaints?
At the first glance, the Weber Genesis E-330 Liquid Propane Gas Grill is a perfect machine. But what makes it unpopular for some is the price attached to it. While there may be a wide range of inexpensive portable propane gas grills out there, the E-330 is beyond comparison to those varieties in terms of BTU, grill surface, and lots of other features. So generally speaking, it is priced that way because of the amenities and benefits that you will not normally find in other competing products.
Where To Look for the Weber Genesis E-330 Liquid Propane Gas Grill?
If you think you’re convinced enough to get the Genesis E-330, there are a lot of places where you can get it. For one, the Weber website at www.weber.com can give you tons of options, including replacement parts and accessories.

Stuff to Look For in Portable Propane Gas Grills
If you’re planning to get a gas grill one of these days, there is much to consider before you actually decide to purchase one. There are several advantages and disadvantages for each brand and kind of grill.
Put in mind that finding the “perfect” one for your grilling needs requires some thorough research and information gathering. Now here’s a look at some very important factors to look into when shopping for these gas grills:
Price – The price is obviously vital because it will tell you the brand and quality of the product you can afford. Most high end gas grills are priced higher but don’t think that every good and high quality product is expensive. With the right kind of information and research, you’ll encounter excellent gas grills minus the hefty price tag.
Fuel – There are two choices here: propane and natural gas. These two are the most preferred fuels used in gas grills nowadays. If you choose to buy a grill with propane gas configuration, don’t expect it to run or operate using natural gas. The best thing about propane grills is that you will certainly save more compared to settling for bags of charcoal. It is also way cleaner and faster.
Material Used – Majority of gas grills are made of cast aluminum, iron, and stainless steel. You must look into the kind of material used when you’re planning to buy one because it tells you how long your grill can last. The most preferred material today is stainless steel. Though it may be quite expensive compared to cast aluminum, it is lighter and more durable.
Size – Finally, size determines if you can move the product from place to place. There are large stationary propane gas grills that are almost immovable and there are lighter and smaller ones that focus on portability and handiness. Consequently, the Weber Q100 386002 Portable Propane Gas Grill belongs to this type.

Are There Complaints?
While the Weber 50060001 Q1000 Portable Propane Gas Grill is the manifestation of durability and portability, it comes with minor flaws as well. It’s amazing though that after searching for major downsides for the Q1000; I couldn’t seem to get a significant one. Perhaps the most obvious flaw is the quality of being a compact grill. What to Look For When Shopping for Gas Grills
A gas grill has become a vital component of cooking in America and many parts of the world. But the charcoal-based grilling methods have gone obsolete because of the emergence of the more efficient and faster gas grills. If you opt to get one yourself, you first need to look into the different factors to consider. Remember that choosing the right type of gas grill is no easy task especially if you are aiming to get the most out of your purchase.
Fuel Type – The most preferred fuel type for gas grills nowadays is propane gas. The best thing about propane gas grills like the Weber 1141001 is that it lets you save more compared to natural gas and charcoal. Aside from added savings, it is obvious that propane gas is way cleaner and faster in cooking compared to charcoal.
Brand – Brand is another factor to weigh on. There are several brands out in stores and some of them are unreliable while others are established ones. Just make sure you choose a model or product that is a known and established manufacturer of gas grills.
Price – Additionally, price is probably the first and most important consideration. While some consumers will look at the brand and built of the gas grill, majority will look at the price first. But don’t think that when a propane gas grill is inexpensive, it is also of low quality. There are tons of good quality brands out there that do not carry with them a large price tag. It’s just a matter of shopping wisely.
Consequently, the most recent trend these days is a portable propane gas grill. Portability means you can carry and bring it to various places of your fancy. The flexibility and handiness carried by a grill like the Weber 1141001 Go-Anywhere Propane Gas Grill is surely a great treat for those who love to grill.
Since a long time ago I have been searching a good grill for satisfying my husband’s and my stomachs until my friend introduced me Weber 1141001 Propane Gas Go-Anywhere Grill. She has been using the Weber Go-Anywhere grill for camping for 3 years.

Are you familiar with the old fire starting drill in order to turn up a traditional gas grill? The old method of complex gas ignition has discouraged a lot of people from buying gas grills. But for the Weber 1141001 Go-Anywhere Propane Gas Grill, all you need to do is press a button and the grill gets instantly ready for action.
- Porcelain Enameled Coating
The grill is one of the most abused tools in the kitchen. They are subjected to heat, flavor, liquid, and all sorts of stuff. As a result, a typical grill would normally get rust and deterioration after only a few months of use. What makes the Weber 1141001 Go-Anywhere Propane Gas Grill distinct and special is that it has a porcelain enamel coating that prevents rusting and fading more effectively.

- Patented Heat Distributing Flavorizer Bar
What’s the most obvious cooking issue in grills using charcoal? I bet it’s the tendency of uneven cooking. The heat is not evenly distributed and that results to some parts of the food or meat uncooked while others are burned. With a patented heat distributing flavorizer bar from the Weber 1141001, you can be sure that your food is cooked evenly each and every time.
- Built-in Lead Hangers
Another feature tough to pass on for this grill is the built-in lid hanger. It provides added convenience because it allows the user to put the lid on the side of the grill when it’s not used. Additionally, it can serve as a wall or barriers so as to prevent the wind from blowing the fire.

Another problem found in similar grills addressed by Weber is the instability of the legs. You don’t want your grill to move unwontedly when you’re using it, right? The pivoting legs for this grill lock the lid in place for guaranteed stability and safety.
When I heard about the price, I was immediately attracted. Then I got back and searched for more information which finally got my decision. As many people say, it’s a Weber! Grilling is the natural cooking option for individuals who think that things only taster better outdoors. Whatever your requirements, you’ll find a grill to feed your cooking passion. .
There are two types of gas bbq grills. Natural gas grills use natural gas to fire up. Natural gas is comprised primarily of methane. An option when using these grills is to have a certified contractor install a natural gas line pipe from your house to the unit.
The other type of outdoor gas grill uses liquid propane as a power source. LP gas comes in 20 pound steel tanks and is measured in BTUs. However, one type is not better than the other, it simply comes down to a matter of preference.
- Charcoal burns cleaner and is not less costly per-use than gas grill.
- Gas grills ignite quickly, using a push button, rotary or electric lighter that’s integrated into the grill. After having a few minutes of preheating, you’ll be ready to make.
In order to prepare food quicker and much more smoothly, gas grills have higher temperature control. - Part burners on gas grills permit you to prepare an associated dish without running back and forth towards the kitchen.
- A standard tank of gas holds 20 pounds of fuel. Don’t be surprised if it feels like it weighs 40 lbs when you pick up it since propane gas is heavier than oxygen.
- A complete LP tank usually lasts about seven hours – of course with regards to the cooking heat and quantity of writers working.
- Grill owners with natural gas available should consider an immediate hookup to power your grill.
- There are no tanks to replace, and you will eliminate the chance of running out of fuel in the middle of cooking.
When it comes to functionality and grilling performance, both sources are actually very similar. They both perform the same function when providing heat to the burner. But when it comes to differences, there are many.
For instance, natural gas grills aren’t really designed for portability. In order to utilize one, you need to make sure you get a constant supply of gas. This can be feasible is you’re living in a place where there is a local company that can supply the natural gas.

Get a General Knowledge of Gas Grill
There are more and more people choosing the right gas grill to cook foods at home or outside with friends, but with so many different types , are you feeling confused with the variety of sizes and styles of gas grills?
When you start to shop around for a new grill for your home barbecuing it can most definitely be a pain in the neck. Along with the many varieties of gas grills, you will also find specialty grills like smokers and fryers. More than 75 percent of American households own some type of grilling device, so it makes complete sense that the variations are so vast.
Generally speaking, a grill will be made of several common components. First you will have the enclosure or cook box. The cook box should be made from a quality metal material. You want to be sure to invest in something that is relatively thick, because something that is too thin won’t hold heat as effectively as a thicker metal cook box. The cook box will be supported by a cart or some type of cabinet. Nicer grills will give you more preparation area and offer ample storage. This cart is also where most grills house the propane tank. Inside the cook box is where you will find the most important components of your grill.
Of course, stainless steel grids are my next favorite because they are durable, easier to maintain and are affordable. Stainless steel also does a good job at cooking your foods and retaining heat. Lastly we have porcelain coated steel grids. Porcelain is vulnerable to chipping, and then rusting if you use improper utensils. I would recommend cast iron for the dedicated griller and stainless steel to the occasional griller.
Like everything else when it comes to grills, the burners also come in a huge variety. The burner is the heart of the grill. This is where the propane and air mix to form a flame. This is a crucial component because this is the heat source of your grill, without it you would be left with nothing more than an empty shell, which you could turn into a charcoal grill.
One word to say that having a quality burner is important because lesser materials are prone to what we call burn out. Investing in quality materials will pay off in the long run because you will not have to spend more money each season on replacement parts.
How To Choose A Grill
No other people in the world love grilling the most than Americans. From steaks, barbecue, to burger patties, a typical American household simply cannot afford to miss a grill. They love to gather outdoors to have a weekend barbecue or perhaps go out camping and tailgating.
Grills are the perfect outdoor mate for cooking. The flavor you get from any grilled food such as BBQ and steaks is incomparable, that’s why this kitchen equipment shouldn’t be absent in the kitchen. If you want the best food possible and all of your family members, friends, and guests to be happy when eating at your home, you need to have a product that is good.
So you’re planning to buy a grill? But the question with grills is that they are too many brands, types, varieties. You’ve paid attention to salesmen tell you about BTUs floor areas, rotisserie burners, part burners, infrared burners, along with a dozen things you’ve never heard about. Now you are more confused than before and what you need is just a small helpful advice.
Before you buy the grill, you should know how it works and if it will do everything, you need it to, which means more than making sure it is under budget. When you’re planning to buy a grill, consider the following factors:
- Price:
First thing is the price, the price is always the main factor to look into. For many consumers, the brand, specs, and features are second priorities. But the specific price tag of a grill largely depends on its type.
Diffrent gas grills may cost you from under $100 to more than $5000.Which price of gas grill going to buy depends on your budget and the frequency of grilling.
If you plan to use this grill to cook out for large amounts of people, you are going to need a larger budget. When you have a smaller budget, you should look at what you do and do not need. You cannot go over what you have to spend and you do not want to sacrifice the necessities.
For instance, charcoal grills are cheaper while electric and gas powered varieties can range from $150 to $400. Your choice may depend on the price but remember that you ought to consider other factors as well.
- Fuel Source :
The next thing to consider will be the fuel. Grills are also classified based on the source of heat or flame. There are three primary sources – electric, charcoal, and gas. Each one of them has pros and cons and it totally depends on how much you want to spend and what is your taste.
For instance, electric grills are mainly intended for indoor grilling. They need an electric outlet as power source. Charcoal grill on the other hand is the oldest way of cooking food by way of grill. The process is long and tedious since you need to make sure that the charcoal is burnt enough to radiate energy.
Finally, there’s the gas grill, which utilizes either natural gas or propane for cooking food. It is the most preferred type simply because it allows faster and more convenient cooking.
A gas grill is equipped with a refillable propane gas tank that detaches from the grill for filling purposes. The stand usually has a bottom shelf beneath the grill for tank storage. Some of the more costly grills will have an enclosure for the tank.
Grills that burn gas hold temperatures steady and cool down quickly. If you can control the temperature at which you cook something, it will undoubtedly come out better. You also don’t have to worry about youngsters or pets running into a grill full of hot charcoals once the cooking is done.
These units are so easy to clean. There’s no messy charcoal to dump. If you use the bristle brush, it makes clean up a breeze, then you’re good to go for your next grilling session.
- Material:
Next will be the material the grill is created from. Gas grills are typically made from cast iron, stainless steel, sheet metal or cast aluminum. Stainless steel is the most expensive, but the most preferred.
When buying gas grills there are quite a bit of things to consider. One of them is the quality of materials in particular stainless steel grades. The thing about stainless steel grades is that it is not the same with all grills and it certainly isn’t the same with all the different brands out there.
This is why you must factor this into consideration before purchasing a gas grill. Manufacturers can be deceiving. They will only tell you that the grill is made of good quality stainless steel. In reality, not all parts of a grill are made with the same grade.
A quick tip to remember is that if your grill is made entirely of stainless steel but is still cheap for the materials, then you have reason to suspect that it is either
- The manufacturer uses low quality grade steel OR
- Not all parts of the grill use good quality grade steel.
Gas grills enable the food to cook correctly and savor their flavor.
Grills that are made of good stainless steel grade are expensive and they have a really professional finish to it. But looks can be deceiving as well. So let me tell you a few things to look into about stainless steel.
Stainless Steel Thickness
There are some brands that have huge grills but are surprisingly light. This should ring alarm bells in your head. Generally speaking, if a gas grill is made of good quality steel, it will be heavy. There’s a lot that can influence the weight and one of them is stainless steel thickness.
All you got to do is press on a grill firmly with your finger. If it gives under pressure, then it is not a good quality grill. You should get a gas grill that won’t budge when you press on it or apply some pressure. Manufacturers try to save costs by using thinner metal sheets so beware.
Stainless Steel Finishing
Good quality gas grills have a smooth finish when you brush over a stainless steel surface. It is good to have a feel on this to have an idea if the gas grill you are looking at have shoddy workmanship or takes great care in ensuring that all surfaces are smooth.
This might not mean a great deal to you in the beginning but over time, humidity, heat and the weather can result in rusting at areas where you have these imperfections.
Stainless Steel Grade
You also need to know that there are a variety of stainless steel grades used for gas grills. Anything that is in the the 400 series stainless steel grade is considered mediocre to poor in quality compared to stainless steel with the 300 grading to it. Another good way to tell if it is either 400 or 300 is to place a magnet on it. Magnet is attracted to poorer quality steel (400). Non-magnetic stainless steel is typically of the 300 series grade.
If you are unsure what quality it is, ask before committing to a gas grill. As mentioned before, some grills have different grades of stainless steel used to make them so be careful of this as well. 304 is one of the most commonly used stainless steel grade today.
Having said that, you don’t necessary have to purchase a stainless steel gas grill although having one certainly looks shiny and professional from far.
I hope this explains about stainless steel grade to help you make a better decision in buying a stainless gas grill.
The grill itself has to retain heat for optimum cooking and efficient fuel use, but the stand should stay cool to the touch for safety reasons. The cover should be the same material and have handles made of wood and non heat conductive material.
You need to note that untreated steel will rust, and if the grill will be left outside, it will need to be covered when not in use. The cover can help contain the heat while cooking, so you must be sure the grill is not a cheap material painted to look like cast iron or stainless steel, or it will be pretty dangerous to use.
The best grilling surfaces are cast iron or ceramic. Those two materials heat quickly and keep the heat much longer. High-quality materials like stainless steel can be very useful in the longevity of a gas grill. And cast iron grates can sear food better for you and be able to hold heat for a long time but you must be cleaned immediately after cooking.
- Size:
After you have these elements decided, you have to select the size and features you would like. For the size, take into account the types of items for many people you may wish to prepare for and you’ll wish to prepare in your grill.
A grilling size from 75 to 100 square inches will provide enough area to cook burgers and hot dogs for 3 people. Grilling area from 100 square inches to 200 square inches will accommodate hot dogs and hamburgers for 6 and grilling areas over 200 square inches will accommodate parties of 10 or more.
If you are thinking about a big poultry or having the ability to make up 40 burgers at the same time you’ll need a bigger grill. If you simply prepare chicken breasts or several meats in some time, you will probably need an small one.
Also consider the room you’ve for your grill. Find one which can fit easily and properly. If you have limited space for grill, measure up the area where the grill will be located and choose a grill accordingly. Be sure that offers sufficient area around the grill to make sure it is out of the way of foot traffic, especially pets and children.
If the area is at a premium, considering to get a table top gas grill. The grill can be put in place for cooking and cooling, then put away in the garage or shed.
- Features:
For features, would you like a-side burner? What about perhaps a smoker package, or multiple stage cooking areas, side burner, rotisserie burner, lamps, or anyone of the dozen items that get put into a grill nowadays.
Some grill that has two separate cooking areas controlled independently will help conserve energy when cooking a few items. It will not need to heat up the entire grill when only a portion was being used for heating foods.
When it comes to features, there are plenty out there. The more you add to the grill, though, the higher the cost will be. If you want something that gives you a full grilling experience, you might enjoy some of the more feature full grills out there. As long as you watch out for price and understand your necessities, these ones can turn into very useful grills.
- Temperature:
Another aspect may be the BTUS. This can be a dimension of the quantity of warmth developed by the burner. A grill with higher BTUs does not always make more heat. It’s an issue of the heat produced, well it keeps and directs and how big the grill that heat.
Do not purchase a grill simply because it’s a higher BTU range. Smaller sized grills may create greater cooking conditions with lower BTUs.
- Durability:
Components, width of metals, quality of components and a significant part in just how long a grill can last perform. The largest area of the lifetime of one’s gas grill is it’s look after. A well-taken care of grill may last quite a long time!
No matter which gas grill you choose,it should be made from heavy-gauge and corrosion-resistant materials to make sure that this grill can last for years, not seasons. In addtional,it should be safe to operate.
- Type of Material Used and Grill Surface
Finally, two important things to look at as well are the material used for making the grill and the characteristic of the grill surface. There are various things used to make them. Examples are cast iron, porcelain coated steel, and chrome plated steel or even stainless steel.
Each material corresponds to a particular state of durability and price tag. For instance, chrome grills are the most inexpensive, cast iron meanwhile are the most ideal for heat distribution and even cooking, while porcelain coated cast iron and stainless steel are the expensive ones.
We know researching can be a headache. That is why we’ve posted reviews on gas grills after testing each of them. To make things easier, we’ve taken time to check and review our hottest gas grills, and you may see them below.
How much do you know about Gas Grill?
Now there are a large number of people who are going in for gas grills, given the fact that these are extremely useful for grilling stuff and ensuring that you have a great food time. However, are you familiar with various types of gas grill? How much do you know about gas grill? Yes, it’s necessary to get known about some basic of gas grill in order to buy a right one.
As we all know that gas grills burn with a clean flame, and the fuel in a gas grill can be either Natural Gas or Propane. The temperature in most can be easily managed with control knobs. Start up and shutdown is as easy as turning knob. So the gas grill has been more and more popular in our daily life, and there are many kinds of gas grill available in the market.
Then how to figure out the condition of the gas grill from the flame? Generally to say, a clear blue flame shows that harmless water vapor and carbon dioxide (CO2) formed during burning, caused by a good mix of fuel and oxygen. A yellow flame shows insufficient oxygen in the combustion of the fuel. A small amount of yellow at the tip of a blue flame is not hazardous, but a complete yellow flame will emit a bit more carbon monoxide (CO), a colorless, odorless and toxic gas, which would be dangerous if grilling in a confined area and proper precaution should be taken.
It’s important to have a precise propane and natural gas mixes to fuel. This ratio (5 to 1) is then evenly distributed by the size and shape of the grill’s burners. If the ratio is off, incomplete combustion will result in the flame appearing more yellow than blue. Once the fuel mixes in the proper ratio, the burner spreads it out, where it emits as a flame through the burner’s holes.
Another point need to consider is the BTU rating when buying the gas grill. BTU (British Terminal Unit) can be defined as the quantity of heat needed to increase the temperature of one pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit, and it means that a BTU is the amount of gas released to run all the burners in a grill for an hour.
Usually, a typical gas burner requires 9,000 to 12,000 BTU each hour. So using this, remember that:
- A small two burner grill would require about 22,000 BTU s
- A large six burner grill would require about 60,000 BTU s
Remember, more BTU s will require gas pipes with a larger diameter going into the grill.
Above are some basic points that need to be considered when buying a gas grill, and hope that can help you achieve your proper pursuit of gas grill.
Gas Grill BTU – How Much Of It Is Enough?
Gas Grill BTU can be a very confusing thing especially when manufacturers boast of big fat gigantic BTUs but in actual fact, the cooking time still takes longer than expected. It can be really disappointing as a customer to spend few hundred dollars on a nice piece of gas grill only to find that they have been cheated. I have seen a few customers venting their frustration at me for not providing an accurate description of each gas grill’s BTU.
While I do strive to provide accurate information for my customers, sometimes the BTUs claimed by manufacturers are not the real ones. I have explained a lot about BTUs before to customers but have never actually written an article about it. This article is an effort to explain what you need to know about gas gril BTU. So read on…
THE REAL TRUTH
What most of you might have heard is that a good gas grill should produce around 100BTUs per square inch. While this remains true in general, the same cannot be applied for most modern gas grills especially infrared gas grills. BTUs refer to the heat output generated by the primary burners and not the side burners, rotisserie burners, warming racks etc. Most manufacturers give you a false impression of a really powerful gas grill by combining the amount of BTUs produced by all of these components but not telling you the ACTUAL BTUs produced.
Let’s start with the infrared gas grills.
Infrared gas grills are designed in a way that heat transfer is through radiation and not through convection. I’ll spare you the physics of it but infrared gas grills are more efficient than any other gas grills so fewer BTUs are required to produce an equivalent heat output compared to conventional gas grills.
Is 100BTUs the standard?
Most modern gas grills won’t need 100BTUs per square inch of cooking area to function properly. Gas grills are more efficiently designed and they don’t need such a high output to grill. The most important components to look at for heat output efficiency is the cooking grates. The heavier cooking grates have better heat output and thus cooking times will be faster. Weber gas grills use heavy cast iron cooking grates and have less BTU but they cook really fast and are very energy efficient.
Gas grills that are less efficient may have high BTU outputs but have lighter cooking grates, open spaces at the back or light/thin lids. All these design factors easily dissipates heat to the surroundings and thus have an impact on cooking times.
So is 100BTUs the standard for infrared gas grills?
NO. As mentioned earlier, infrared gas grills are more energy efficient so they only require 60-80 BTUs per square inch to do its job.
Char Broil have a huge range of infrared gas grills for both commercial and personal use. They are the leading manufacturers of infrared gas grills and one of their bestselling infrared gas grills is their Quantum Infrared Gas Grill. You can take a look at it here.
Know Your Burners, Starters, and The Desired Temperature You Want
Here we are going to talk about a few more things mainly to do with:
Burners
When you buy a gas grill, you will notice that there are many parts to it and one of them is the burners. Different gas grills come with different amount of burners. The important thing to look at in a gas burner is to look into the materials used to make it.
Stainless steel and brass burners are the best. Burners made of aluminum or cast iron don’t last long. Burners also come with heat diffusers to prevent grease and oil from dripping into the burners directly. Some heat diffusers are made of metal parts while some are made of lava or ceramic rocks. Generally it is better to go for those made of lava or ceramic rocks but they can be expensive to replace. On the other hand, metals diffusers will rust over time
Another thing to look at is to check out the orientation of the burners. Some burners are designed to run from front to back while some are made to go from left to right. Gas burners that are setup with burners that run from front to back are easier to have different heating zones. This is important especially if you are cooking different types. You can even use it for indirect cooking as well.
Igniter/Starter
This is another important part that most people won’t pay too much attention. Generally speaking, there are a few types of starters. The most common type these days are electronic starters. Some use a button to generate a spark. There are some gas grills that come with manual ignition despite having an electronic ignition already. It is better to get a manual “failsave” just in case the electronic starter gives up on you when you most need to use your gas grill.
Temperature
Not all gas grills are made the same way. So you cannot assume that the max temperatures are the same. Different types of food require different temperatures to ensure that it taste good. Most gas grills have difficulty reaching 700F. Infrared gas grills are more likely able to reach these temperatures simply because of the way it is designed. Higher temperatures are generally better for cooking steaks*.
The best temperature is one that has the ability to cook to the desired doneness in the shortest time possible without burning the surface. You don’t need to buy an infrared grill as there are many conventional gas grills that are able to reach high enough temperatures to give you a really nice juicy piece of steak.
Therefore, if you are unsure about the max temperatures you have to ask.
*If you are cooking chicken, then a temperature of about 165 degrees would suffice.
If you haven’t considered the above things yet, then I suggest you add this to your list of things to consider before buying a gas grill.
Do You Know Your Gas Grill Cooking Grates?
Having a gas grill without quality grates will definitely have an impact on the quality of your food. We hear a lot about porcelain-enameled cooking grates, stainless steel grates and so forth but how do we know which one is best? Is there a material that can withstand high temperatures for long periods of time?
A good quality cooking grate should have these qualities:
- Durable
- Won’t Rust
- Prevent Food from Sticking
- Good Heat transfer
Its obvious that the cost of your gas grill will be higher if it fulfills all the criteria mentioned above.
If you were to do your reading on cooking grates, you will find that there are a few types out there. Cast iron grates, Stainless steel grates, Porcelain coated grates and steel grates.
The best out there are cast iron grates. They are heavy grates and with proper maintenance they can last a long time. Sometimes it is also coated with porcelain giving it added longevity. Cast iron grates transfer heat efficiently and is durable. It also gives that nice seared marks on your food. The best way to protect cast iron cooking grate is to line it with oil.
Porcelain coated cooking grates do last a while providing if you don’t use metal cooking utensils on it. The porcelain layer is only a coat protecting the metal in the inner layer. The metal is not protected by any other layer if it gets exposed and so, air, water, and the intense heat will shorten its lifespan. While cleaning it, make sure you get a brush that won’t damage the porcelain coat.
Stainless steel grates lasts longer than steel grates simply but certainly not as long as cast iron grates. Porcelain coated grates lasts longer than stainless steel grates as well. The worse kind of cooking grates is made of plain steel. Plain steel easily loses its temper and after a while develops chips, making its surface rough and uneven. Food tends to stick easier on plain steel surfaces over time.
Stainless steel also loses its temper albeit at a slower pace.
How To Use A Gas Grill – Learn All the Basic Tricks Here!
Before you start using your gas grill, you need to ensure that your gas grill is ready to be used. I know your temptation to start grilling without doing some pretty essential stuff can get over you.
Things You Needs
- Gas Grill (DUH!!)
- Propane Gas /Supply
- Lava Rocks
- Dish Soap
Optional

Here are some common areas you need to look into before firing up your gas grill
- Make sure your gas grill is on stable ground.
- Start with a clean grill.
- Ensure all the parts are in working order and in the right place
- Ensure that your gas grill is in good working order. No leaking gas tubes. No cracked pans or grates. No rusty components. Greasy lava rocks?
- You also need to check the connections. Is the valve connection secure enough? If you don’t know how to do this, then you can quickly and easily check this by putting some dish soap on the valve connection. Turn it on and if there aren’t any bubbles then your gas grill is safe to use.
- Read the manual or instructions on how to use your gas grill. (This part might vary but the way you use each gas grill is pretty much the same for all brands)
Now that you have already looked into all those things, it is time tolearn how to use your gas grill!
Light Up The Grill
Open the grill lid. Ensure that the propane control valve is open. Now gas should start to flow when you turn the gas flow control on. Press the lighter switch and the gas should ignite and it is now ready to use. If you are having trouble with this, repeat this step and try again.
Learning How To Grill
Excited to grill for the first time?? I’m sure.. But first you got to know how to use your gas grill. First things first, you need to know the difference between direct and indirect methods of grilling.
Direct Method
The direct method of grilling on a gas grill is like putting your food directly on top of the heat source. Foods like steaks, chops, kabobs and sausages don’t take long to cook through direct methods. It usually takes less than 25 minutes to cook them. If you want to get that wonderful seared look for that amazing crisp, delicious texture, you should use the direct method of heating your food. Besides getting that really nice grilled mark there, the grilled flavor is great for steaks, chicken breasts and other types of meat.
To Grill Using the Direct Method
- Turn the burners on high to preheat your grill
- Leave it for a while and then place food on the cooking grate.
- Adjust the burners to the desired temperature for your recipe
- Close the lid and let it grill for a while.
- Turn your food over and check to see if it looks done.
Indirect Method
The indirect method ensures that your food cooks really well. It is likened to roasting as direct method is to broiling. There is that added grilled flavor, texture and appearance that looks so much more appealing than in an oven. You’ll be sure to find your food evenly cooked on all sides.
If you want your food to have that nice roasted look or if you want to cook it for more than 25 minutes, then use this method instead. Examples of food include turkeys, fish fillets, roasts and ribs. This is also used for larger cuts of meat.
To Grill Using the Indirect Method
- Turn the burners on high again to preheat your grill.
- Turn the burners off directly underneath the food but leave those on the sides on at a specific temperature.
- You can either line your cooking rack with heavy duty foil or place your food on a roasting rack inside a heavy duty foil.
- You can also add water to the foil pan to prevent the drippings from burning.
Finished?
Now that you’re done, it’s time to turn it off.
But before you do that, turn the burner to high to burn off grease and drippings.
So now it is time to test your skills. Without practical experience it is impossible to tell how well you use your gas grill. Sometimes you might need some gas grill accessories like rotisseries, briskets, drip pans to help you.
Gas Grill Maintenance – How to Maintain Your Gas Grill
Right… now that you have purchased your shiny new gas grill and have used it for a couple of months already, there is another thing you should take note of. Maintenance! You need to maintain your gas grill. After all, you can’t expect it to work at 100% without taking care of its individual parts, cleaning and maintaining it?
Remember: Your gas grill is only as good as the parts inside. So if you find any rusty, dirty, leaking parts, obviously, your gas grill won’t be in optimum condition.
Some of the main reasons why you should clean your gas grill are to prevent your food tasting like last weekend’s BBQ grilled steak. The other reason is just for maintenance sake (which is obvious enough) and prevent further buildup of food particles, ash and grease which will obviously make your gas grill look disgusting over time. Here in this article, I will highlight some rather important information to help with your gas grill needs.
You will need a few things to help you do a good cleaning job:
- Soap and water
- Grill brush
- Non-stick cooking spray
- Oven cleaner
- Steel wool sponges
Here are some essential things to look at to maintain your gas grill.
Before Using
- Brush cooking grates to remove residue and dirt before grilling. Obviously you want a clean cooking surface!
- Before you start grilling, preheat your grill completely. Besides burning off residual food, it also disinfects your gas grill.
After Using
- Now that you are done grilling your fav chicken wings, turkey and mushrooms, it is time to do a good clean by turning on the heat to maximum to remove remaining food, grease and drippings.
- Once you’re done with that cover your gas grill but make sure it has cooled down before doing that.
After several cycles of grilling (8-10 grilling sessions)
- Clean the drip pan of all the grease. Soak them in hot soapy water and get rid of all the grease. Give it a good rinse and then put it back.
- The cooking grates would not look yucky, greasy and black so it is obviously wise to clean them too. Soak them in hot soapy water and get rid of all the grease. Give it a good rinse and then put it back.
- Don’t forget the area or metal parts around the grates. Those things will inevitable collect grease, black charcoaled material so give it a good scrap and clean. If possible give it a hot soapy wash too.
- Don’t forget the grill cover especially beneath it. If possible remove it and give it a good clean off grease before attaching it back.
- Once you’re done with that, heat up you gas grill until there is minimal smoke coming out from it.
Annually
If your gas grill has lasted this long, good on you but if it hasn’t then it is either your gas grill isn’t good or you just didn’t bother maintaining it.
Assuming that you take good care of it, this is what you need to do.
- Replace the drip pan. By now it should be really greasy and sometimes cleaning won’t restore it to its original condition. There are gas grill accessories where you can purchase drip pans for your grill.
- Remove the cooking grates and give it a good thorough wash. A hot soapy wash would do. You probably have to soak it a while to give it a good clean. If it looks impossible to clean, get a new one.
- Don’t forget the interior of the gas grill. Give it a good clean wash.
- Next, check the burners. Make sure everything is out of the way to properly check the burners. Fire the burners up and check for even burning. If it isn’t burning evenly, there might be debris obstructing proper burning. To do this, you need to remove the affected burners from the grill and with a pipe cleaner or small wire push through the ports. If the wire is able to go through, it should be fine. Otherwise, repeat the cleaning step. Some models may require a different cleaning procedure. Just make sure you check it out before cleaning it yourself.
- Now that you’ve taken care of the inner parts, don’t forget the exterior. Give it a good rinse and soapy wash. You can do this under the sun for quick drying
- Once you’re done with this, fire your gas grill up to dry up all the internal parts.
If you’re happy with all that has been done to this stage, cover your gas grill. A good premium gas grill cover is a worthwhile assessment to prevent dust and the elements affecting it.
Store it carefully and you’re ready for your next grilling session!
When to Replace Gas Grill Burner?
The fact that the gas grill burner is the heart of the grill means that it should be well maintained if it is to work effectively. The cleaning and inspecting of the grill burner should be done on a regular basis, especially of the gas grill burner is being used more often.
The advantage of this regular cleaning and inspection is to ensure that the grill burner works effectively and in an efficient way. Additionally, this cleaning is done to ensure that the gas grill burner is safe for use at all times. To find out whether the grill burner is in good condition is easy. If the flame that is produced with the burner burns evenly, then this is a clear sign that the gas grill burner is in good condition.
When to Replace Gas Grill Burner
All the materials used in the manufacture of the gas grill burner rust and get discolored at one point. Some of the materials that are used include stainless steel, cast iron and aluminized steel. If during the inspection and cleaning an individual notices excessive rusting to the point that the burner is splitting then it is time that the gas grill burner is replaced with a new one. In the case of the cast iron material the best time to replace the gas grill burner is when the holes of the burner are shut and have swollen.
A gas grill burner is made to last for more than 3 years. With proper cleaning and maintenance it is possible to make use of the burner for a long time. Other factors that may affect the life of the gas grill burner include the quality of burner bought, usage and the climate of the area it is being used.
Basic Barbeque Safety
In today’s world, bbq has grew to become a very common practice. BBQ now has also broken the boarders of the once-per-year practice and you can easily find families that will arrange a barbecue many times per week!
However, along with the pleasing that the barbeque brings you should also be very careful so that you can prevent harmful bacteria from appearing in your food. This guide will give you general suggestions and basic safety advice to follow in order to keep your food clean as possible.
First of all, it is a good practice to buy it cold when you buy food; especially when you buy meat or poultry. Following that, you ought to make sure to separate juicy food just like meat and chicken from other foods. By simply doing this, you are preventing cross-contamination among them. To place poultry/meat in plastic bags would be the best practice; because plastic bags are 100% water resistant so you will have no trouble if you pack the food carefully.
After you have got everything you need, you should head directly to your home and put all fridge-preserved foods in your freezer or fridge. It will be important never to allow those foods come to a room heat as it is the best chance for bacteria to form.
Yeah, there’s nothing to compare with cooking meat over glowing coals or gas burner. But just be sure to remember a few grilling safety guidelines and then everyone will get a enjoyable and safe holiday.
* Always keep the lid open while lighting your grill.
* Never use a grill indoors and try to keep the grill 15 feet away from the house and three or more feet away from trees or bushes.
* Check the pipes which lead into the burner to make sure that there are not any insects or food grease.
* Always follow the product‘s guidelines offered by the manufacturer.
* When refilling your cylinder, have the supplier check for any damage such as rust or leaks.
* Keep your children away from your grill.
* Don’t walk far away from your hot grill.
* Turn off the cylinder if you smell gas, and leave the area immediately. Then call 911.
Finally, remember that it is a better practice to marinate the food in a refrigerator (so that bacteria can not multiply easily) although you can marinate food many hours/days before you cook it.Remember to boil these marinade first which you are going to reuse in order to destroy any harmful bacteria by the high temperature. After all this boring theory, I wish you to barbeque as often as possible and to enjoy a good time, every time!
